Greenburgh Insider: Why no Ice Skating so far at Crane's Pond? and info about mortgage assistance.

In order for ice skating to be allowed the ice has to be 4 inches deep through the entire area. It's a safety issue.

Also, NYS has a fund to help residents behind with mortgage payments to the Covid 19.

WHEN WILL WE ALLOW SKATING AT CRANE'S POND?  and...helpful info if you are falling behind in your mortgage payment.

Crane's pond is owned by the town of Greenburgh and is located in Edgemont, close to Pipeline Road. It's a charming and beautiful pond that is enjoyed by many. When it gets freezing many children and families enjoy ice skating on the pond.

We have been monitoring the pond and we don’t anticipate it being safe for skating this weekend. In order for us to open the pond for skating the ice must be 4” deep across the entire area.  Our parks superintendent schedules the checking of the pond. In recent years the movement of the water has changed and the pond has rarely met the 4” minimum.  We know that residents love Crane's Pond Ice Skating. As soon as the ice is safe for ice skating we will  post announcements on the town website.

IF YOU ARE FALLING BEHIND IN YOUR MORTGAGE PAYMENT DUE TO COVID-19, THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO YOU

NY has $530M to help homeowners behind on their mortgage payments. Here’s how to apply - syracuse.com
