If you know anyone who is experiencing domestic violation problems or needs help  dealing with family court issues there is a fantastic non profit  that can help. The Coalition for Family Justice was founded by Monica Getz of Irvington in 1988. They have helped many people over the years. I recently interviewed Suzanne Lester, a resident of our town, on my WVOX radio program (see link below) who discusses how the Coalition saved her during a stressful time in her life. I have referred many people to this non profit over the years - residents  who were severely depressed feeling that they had nothing to live for. After joining this amazing organization their lives changed for the better -- they received support, great advice and help and were able to have happy lives, thanks to the Coalitions help.  Suzanne Lester discusses her life changing experiences on the radio.  Also -please see link to the Coalition for Family Justice website.

OUR MISSION

To identify problems and advocate for systemic changes in the divorce and family court systems in order to make them fair, user friendly, accountable, and affordable;

To provide victims and children involved in domestic violence situations with crisis intervention, information, support, legal access, and advocacy.

NCFJ BACKGROUND

The Coalition for Family Justice is a grassroots, gender neutral, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, founded in 1988 and headquartered in Irvington, New York. CFJ is run by volunteers who are dedicated to promoting justice in marital and family matters and to raising awareness of problems families experience in the divorce and family court system.

The Coalition is dedicated to working for legal and judicial reforms to make the system more family friendly. In addition to seeking reform, the Coalition is dedicated to empowering, educating, and providing support and resources to families in crisis because of the legal system and impoverished by divorce and other domestic relations matters.

Our leadership includes gifted and empowered women and men who have seen and/or experienced deep injustices in the courts and work side by side to improve the judicial system.
