UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN AID – WHERE TO GIVE  and reminder-- webinar tonight How to Reduce Con Ed rates.

In the midst of Russia’s rapidly escalating siege of Ukraine, which has already leveled sites in key cities and forced over a million Ukrainians to flee, many soldiers, as well as good innocent people, have already been killed while defending the country.

The Town of Greenburgh and community members are uniting — to offer support for people and soldiers most affected in Ukraine.  Given the rapidly evolving situation with needs that keep changing, we believe that giving directly to vetted agencies on the ground might be the most effective and efficient.

We turned to get advice from Jaroslaw Palylyk, President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America/Westchester Branch, who recommends the following:

_UCCA (Ukrainian Congress Committee of America) SUMA Yonkers Federal Credit Union account with this link

https://app.autobooks.co/pay/ukrainian-congress-committee-of-america

_UCCA Launches #SupportUkraine Humanitarian Effort: UCCA.org

_Revived Soldiers Ukraine – a non-profit dedicated to providing aid to wounded Ukrainian soldiers - RSUkraine.org

Since so many Ukrainians are fleeing to Poland, a Greenburgh neighbor also recommends this Polish organization vetted by a colleague in a company he knows in the region: https://fundacjaukraina.eu/saveukraine-fundraising/?lang=en

Finally, Volunteer NY has posted a way to donate needed supplies either by buying directly from the AFYA Foundation wishlist on Amazon or delivering these specific items listed in the following link to its warehouse in Yonkers:

Thank you for caring!

Are your latest Con Ed bills concerning?

Do you want to lower your energy bills, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the year-round comfort of your home?

If your answer is “YES!” then join us tonight, March 15th for a Zoom Webinar beginning at 7:00pm where we will launch the Town of Greenburgh Energy Smart Homes Campaign, in partnership with NYSERDA and Sustainable Westchester, and other Westchester Municipalities.

With the guidance and expertise of Sustainable Westchester's EnergySmart Homes, you can make a change that’s gentler on the planet and better for your comfort. Meet our partner air source, ground source, and energy efficiency contractors: Bell, Dandelion, Energy Management Solutions, and Healthy Home, and hear from neighbors who are happily using these systems in their own homes.

New York State, via NYSERDA and Con Ed, are both offering rebates when you upgrade to a clean heating, cooling, or hot water system.

RSVP to the webinar at SustainableWestchester.org/Webinar or call (914) 242-4725 ext. 122.
