We have amazing students living in Greenburgh--students who give back and care about others. After you watch this you'll feel optimistic about the future!
The Greenburgh Town Board honored our student snow angels at the Town Board meeting on June 8th. We are so lucky to have amazing young people who are giving back to the community. THANK YOU!!!! After you watch the video you'll feel optimistic about the future of our country.
We recognized Jackson Tavel who chairs the angel program. He is a senior at Edgemont HS and not only was responsible for the snow angel program but also founded and chaired the landscape angel program - helping seniors and disabled residents with basic landscaping if they can't afford to hire a landscaper or do the work themselves. Also honored was Lily Moskowitz, a senior at Ardsley High School. Lilly co-chiared the effort and helped the town transition from a snow angels program that I organized over thirty years ago to one that is student organized. Much better! And, we heard from Zachary Weinhouse -also of Ardsley High School who will assume the leadership role next winter. He talked about his plans.
The Angels provided seniors and disabled residents with less stress during the winter months, with independence. Those who worry about being shut in during emergencies don't have to worry that they won't be able to get the help after a storm. Seniors who depend on meals delivered to their homes continued to receive them.
The following angels were also recognized.
(David Barlow, Jonathan Barlow, Ashley Barlow, Ryan Connelly, Arjun Patel, Tommy Chestnut, Christopher Poulopoulos, Fiona Stern, Maddy Glotzer, Kimberly Krasner, Saisubramaniyam Venkata Girish, Parker Press, Vivian Holland, Jude Curly, Ethan Wu, Derek Sun, Keaton Tavel, Logan Tavel)
