THIS WEEK’S FEATURED VENDOR:
HUDSON COMPOST makes compost easy and accessible for everyone. With curbside organics collections, all you have to do is leave your bin out once a week and they'll make sure it gets turned into sustainable fertilizer for local farms and gardens. Sign up today at the farmers market and get your starter kit + first month of collections for free!
Hudson Compost was founded in 2019 by three entrepreneurial and environmental Hastings High School students and recent grads, Jude, Max and Ben. Their effort now counts over 375 members, collecting 5,000 pounds of food scraps each week from homes. When municipalities don’t collect food waste, Hudson Compost can step in to collect your waste weekly at a low rate. This “Curbside composting” solution encourages people who might be less likely to make the effort to compost on their own, reduces waste overloading the trash system, and creates great fertilizer to grow more. The company hopes to expand into every Greenburgh neighborhood by the end of the summer. Learn more and sign up at Hudsoncompost.com or see them at the market.
