Greenburgh Insider: Reasons for night work -near Hartsdale train station (and noise)---some complaints from Old Colony Rd.

 


Metro North is doing some overnight work that will be completed around Jan 14.

If you live near the Hartsdale train station and are up at night because of the noise this is the reason:


A COMPLAINT FROM A RESIDENT WHO LIVES ON OLD COLONY ROAD....


Hi Paul, thanks for taking my call.  For the last couple of nights, starting at approximately 1:30 a.m. and continuing for several hours thereafter, My family have been unable to sleep due to the sound of banking, and clanking and what sounds like metal doors opening and closing and then some crashing.

 THE RESPONSE FROM METRO NORTH  EXTERNAL AFFAIRS.

Metro-North is currently performing some fouled ballast removals in the area during overnight to avoid service disruption.  We expect work to be completed by 1/14 subject to productivities with the operation.
