Greenburgh Insider: Elmsford Little League Seniors are NYS champions----to be honored at next Town Board meeting.

..and yesterday's Celebrate Greenburgh event had a record turnout.

Some great news from the Elmsford Little League.  The seniors won the New York State Division Championship, defeating Castle Hill Little League 10-0. The game was played at Dix Hills on Long Island. In recent week the League won the District 20 and Section 3 North Championships leading up to this tournament. The League includes Leaguer's between the ages of 14-15 years. Although the Little League is named for Elmsford many of the participants reside in neighborhoods that include unincorporated Greenburgh, Hartsdale, 10603 and 10607 zip codes, Irvington and Edgemont.  The team will be going to the Little League tournament in Bangor Maine.  I have invited the Champions to the next Greenburgh Town Board meeting on Wednesday July  26 at 7:30 PM to be honored.

YESTERDAY'S CELEBRATE GREENBURGH DAY HAD A RECORD TURNOUT

Yesterday's Celebrate Greenburgh at AF Veteran Town Park  had a total count of 1736 paid customers.  Pre Covid numbers in 2019, the head count was 1666. Last year we had only 1206.. Prior to yesterday’s event due to weather we were having low general swimming participation and it was very encouraging to see the community come out and have a fun day in the park according to Commissioner Gerry Byrne.

A big thank you to town staff for doing an incredible job - organizing Celebrate Greenburgh, making the day very fun and enjoyable for families and for the fantastic firework show which was enjoyed by many.

PAUL FEINER
Greenburgh Town Supervisor
