Greenburgh Insider: Town of Greenburgh: Congrat's to Latimer, Shimsky and Cacace--thank you to James Robinson and Eric Zinger.

Congrat's to the primary election winners & thank you to two civic leaders who are moving out of town.

Congratulations to the winners of the Democratic primary yesterday: George Latimer who won the Congressional primary; Mary Jane Shimsky who won the Democratic nomination for Assembly and Susan Cacace who won the District Attorney primary.

The Greenburgh Town Board will recognize and say thank you to two dedicated public servants who are moving out of Greenburgh at our Town Board meeting on Wednesday, June 26 at 7:30 PM (tonight).

James Robinson has been active in the town for decades. A graduate of Woodlands HS James worked his way up the ranks at the Theodore Young Community Center serving as camp director, Aquatics Director, Program Coordinator, Assistant to the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner. Even after he retired from his town employment James has stayed active in the community- serving as Commissioner of the Greenburgh Housing Authority and Commissioner of the Fairview Fire District. James formed a Martin Luther King Young Adults Club and has coached baseball and basketball.  We wish James good health and happiness and will miss him.

Another community leader who is moving out of town is Eric Zinger of Hartsdale. Eric has played a vital role in our democracy – advocating for change, holding leaders accountable and speaking up at many Board meetings—asking questions and highlighting concerns. The Town Board appointed Eric as a member of the Greenburgh Parks & Recreation Advisory Board a number of years ago. Eric has also served as President of the Hartsdale Neighbors Association, a volunteer driven community-based civic group that has informed residents of Hartsdale about issues that could impact their lives. Eric has been an exceptional civic leader- smart, hardworking and constructive who will also be missed. A model citizen.
