Greenburgh Insider: Town of Greenburgh News: Tarrytown Volunteer firefighters save swimmers lives on July 4th.

These volunteers deserve to be honored by the Greenburgh Town Board for always preparing, training to keep us safe - and for their actions which have saved lives.

Our town is so lucky to have very dedicated volunteers who serve as members of different volunteer fire departments and ambulance corps.  The volunteers donate hundreds of hours training for life savings rescues and over the years have saved the lives of people in distress. On July 4th the Tarrytown Fire department rescued two swimmers in the Hudson River during the fireworks show.  I would like to honor these heroes at an upcoming Town Board meeting  and thank them for  their life savings initiatives. Watch the news12 story about how the volunteers saved two swimmers on the 4th.  Our firefighters deserve our thanks for being available day, night, weekends and holidays. They are always there for the community and work hard to keep us safe. THANK YOU!
