Greenburgh Town Clerk’s Office Expands Service with a New Spanish-Speaking Permit Clerk.
Greenburgh, NY – Greenburgh Town Clerk Lisa Maria Nero is excited to announce the recent addition of a Spanish-speaking Permit Clerk to her team. This strategic hire, made under the direction of Town Clerk Lisa Maria Nero, underscores the office’s commitment to serving the diverse needs of Greenburgh’s residents. Clerk Nero promoted her former Spanish-speaking Permit Clerk to Deputy Town Clerk; a first in the history of the town clerks office to offer an Hispanic to serve in this capacity.
With a growing Hispanic community in Greenburgh, the ability to communicate effectively and offer services in Spanish is essential. The new Permit Clerk will be responsible for assisting Spanish-speaking residents with permit applications, etc., ensuring that language is not a barrier to accessing vital town services.
“Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service to all members of our community,” said Lisa Maria Nero. “By welcoming a Spanish-speaking Permit Clerk to our team, we are taking a significant step towards inclusivity and making sure that every resident feels supported and heard.”
Clerk Nero has been working hard to deliver on her campaign promises to enhance the Greenburgh Town Clerk Office’s services and make them more accessible to everyone in the community. This new hire is part of a broader effort to ensure that the office continues to meet the evolving needs of Greenburgh’s diverse population.
Please stop by or tune in tomorrow for the National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration as we celebrate with the 2nd Annual White Plains Puerto Rican Flag raising ceremony at 7:00pm, followed by a short presentation from my office and closing out the celebration is our Hispanic Liaison & Community Activist Maria Portilla with a Peruvian presentation. This announcement follows last month’s creation of a new free notary service offered by the Greenburgh Town Clerk’s Office created by Clerk Nero.
