The annoying drop in the road (Ardsley Road/Central Ave) has been repaired! Work on northbound portion of Central Ave to be completed in 2 weeks according to the NYS DOT.
Motorists driving on Ardsley Road to Central Ave heading towards the river villages have complained over the years about the uneven road condition at the corner of Ardsley Road/Central Ave. Vehicles crossing Central Ave experienced a quick drop when they were on Central Ave.
The annoying drop on Ardsley Road/Central Ave heading towards Ardsley from Edgemont has been fixed by the State Department of Transportation. A big improvement. I had referred several complaints to the state DOT and am grateful that they were responsive.
NYS is paving the north bound section of Central Ave. Paving should be completed in 2 weeks. The State DOT has been working for 2 months on the prep. After paving is complete NYS will resume the prep work on the south bound portion of Central Ave. Con ed will also still be continuing south bound thru the winter. The southbound portion of Central Ave will be repaved in the spring.
I received a few calls from residents who live in apartments on Central Ave. The noise from the state DOT crews has kept residents up during the evening hours when work is being done. Some residents complained about noise at 3 and 4 AM—making it difficult to sleep. Work is being done in the evening rather than in the day because the state DOT doesn’t want to create massive traffic congestion problems if work would be done during daytime.. Sorry for the inconveniences.
