Greenburgh Insider: Ukrainian flag raising ceremony at Town Hall Wed at 7 P.M.

We want to highlight our support for the people of Ukraine. Please join us Wednesday night!

The Greenburgh Town Board will host a Ukrainian flag raising ceremony outside Greenburgh Town Hall on Wednesday, April 13 at 7 PM. The Ukrainian flag will fly alongside the American flag to highlight the support of the Greenburgh community against the unprovoked and unjustified attack  by Russian military forces. All the members of the Town  Board are horrified by the catastrophic loss of life and human suffering and destruction.  The world must be united and speak out and show support for the people of Ukraine.

Hartsdale resident Ivan Makar, the principal of the Ukrainian Heritage School in NYC approached the Town Board about the flag raising concept. At the ceremony Mr. Makar will discuss the impact the war is having on local residents with family members in Ukraine. Other Greenburgh residents who have family members in Ukraine or family members who are now refugees are invited to speak about their family experiences.
