Greenburgh Insider: Flood advisory- worst of the storm is over~

We continue to take proactive measures to correct historic problems dealing with flooding.

We have been advised by our weather service that the worst of the storm has passed. Crews have been checking the hot spots and problematic areas and hope that the water will start receding now.

Fortunately, we have not had reports of downed trees or power outages.  There are certain areas that have flooded.  WE also received a report of a house fire that may or may not have been caused by lighting.  We continue to work with the state and county to address major flood problems around the town.  The town staff has been taking proactive measures to correct historic problems. The town has had historic flooding areas that we do our best to maintain. We are actively engaged with engineers to study the problem. We hope thru maintenance and studies we will come up with real solutions.

Sorry for any aggravations.
