Meeting will still be held- to listen!
The Town Board recognized the extraordinary scope of the proposed police HQ relocation and will only move forward when and if it is clear such an action is deemed beneficial and affordable to the Town’s residents.
With that understanding, we want to clarify that a meeting scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, July 29 has been called to allow our residents to express their opinions regarding the location, potential costs, and overall need for the construction of a new GPD/EMS HQ. We are here to listen.
In addition, it is important to note, we as members of the Town Board, through recent due diligence, including discussion with outside Bond Counsel, have determined that our residents would not be best served by executing a contract of sale immediately at the close of the meeting tomorrow.
To ensure that there is no question related to how the costs for this project will be divided between the Villages and Unincorporated Town, we are obtaining a formal legal opinion and can determine the legal, correct and most equitable course of action.
We will not be voting on the police HQ tomorrow. But, will listen to community feedback. Our meeting starts at 7:30 PM on Thursday.
