Greenburgh Insider: Hartsdale Fire Commissioner/bond vote Tuesday Dec 13 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

If you live in Hartsdale please exercise your right to vote. The Hartsdale Fire district is overseen by Commissioners you elect. And there is an important bond vote on the ballot.

The Fire District election is between 3PM to 9PM today (December 13th) at the firehouse at 25 South Central Avenue.  There are two important matters for voters to consider--a contested election for commissioner and a vote to decide whether the Fire District should purchase property for a new fire station.

There is a contested election: two candidates for Fire commissioner are Thomas Maguire and Richard Bruno.

There is also a vote regarding authorization for the fire district (which is independent of the town government) to issue a bond for $490,k and purchase 22 South Washington Ave - the property directly behind the fire station. That would be phase one of a long term plan to replace the existing fire station on Central Ave with a new building.

If you would like more information, we have the official notice and other information on the fire districts  website. http://www.hartsdalefire.org
