Excellent tips from News12.
In recent months I have received a number of complaints from residents who have experienced problems getting their passports. One resident (just a week ago) was flying to Paris with his daughter. I saw him at one of the supermarkets. He was very worried that he would have to cancel his vacation. I reached out to our congressional delegation. Fortunately, he got his passport a day before his flight!
Another woman was scheduled to fly to Venice last weekend. She was very stressed because she also did not get her passport in the mail in a timely matter. She was able to get an appointment at the Passport office in Boston the day before her flight. Lots of residents very stressed - worried that they will have to cancel their vacations because of passport processing delays.
It's very upsetting that this is such a mess. The State Department should increase staffing even more than they have. The phone lines need to be adequately staffed as well since some people are on hold for hours.
